Winterhaven Farm
Hello and welcome! We breed and raise Katahdin sheep for meat. Katahdin sheep are a special breed of sheep specially designed to withstand the colder northern winters while maintaining a shedding coat that eliminates the need for shearing. They were developed in the state of Maine by Michael Piel and are named after Mt. Katahdin. They are a medium sized meat sheep and are easy to handle. They are worm resistant and have very few feet problems. They have an impressive 200% reproduction average. They are allowed to be any colour, but must be polled or have scurs. Rams grow a mane around their neck as they mature. They mature quickly and can be bred as early as seven months.
UPDATES: We have expanded our breeding flock to 40 ewes! We do not currently have any livestock available.
